Class 1 Driver (Local) – Invermere, BCThe Perfect Pre-Retirement Driving Job

Have you spent years running the highway and are ready for something a little different?

At Columbia Valley Freight, we're looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our Invermere team in a role designed around consistency, routine, and quality of life.

This isn't long-haul trucking.

There are no overnight trips, no sleeping in truck stops, and no weeks away from home.

Instead, you'll work Monday to Friday, starting at 5:00 AM, finishing after approximately 7 hours, and spending every afternoon doing the things you enjoy.

If you're retired, semi-retired, or simply looking to leave the long-haul lifestyle behind while continuing to do what you love, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

This position plays an important role in keeping our operation running smoothly.

Your day will primarily consist of:

Moving trailers between our Invermere trailer yard and one of our major logistics partners.
Delivering trucks and trailers to our Heavy Duty mechanics for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
Relocating equipment throughout our local operation as required.
Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Reporting maintenance concerns and equipment issues.
Working closely with our operations team to ensure equipment is where it needs to be.

What We're Looking For

Valid Class 1 Driver's Licence.
Clean driver's abstract.
Commercial driving experience.
Strong backing and trailer handling skills.
Safe, professional attitude with pride in your work.
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Someone who treats equipment as if it were their own.
