Overview

Part-Time Forno Oven & Short Order Cook Embers Brewhouse — Kamloops, BC This is not an entry level position We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Part-Time Cook to join our kitchen team. The position is focused on Forno oven pizza production and short-order cooking, with responsibility for maintaining quality, cleanliness, and an efficient kitchen during service. Responsibilities Operate a Forno or similar high-temperature pizza oven Hand-stretch and prepare pizza dough Cook pizzas and short-order menu items to specification Complete daily food preparation and kitchen prep Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary workstation Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen duties as required Complete closing duties and ensure the kitchen is properly shut down Follow food-safety and sanitation procedures Work effectively as part of a professional kitchen team Qualifications Previous experience with a Forno or similar high-temperature pizza oven Experience hand-stretching pizza dough Short-order cooking experience Strong food-preparation skills Ability to work independently and maintain pace during busy service Good hygiene and sanitation practices Reliable and punctual Strong work ethic and a genuine passion for food Additional experience Experience with smoking meats is considered an asset. What we're looking for This position requires someone who shows up, works hard, takes pride in their food, and understands that every member of the kitchen team is responsible for maintaining professional standards. This is not simply a pizza-making position. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the overall operation of the kitchen, including preparation, service, cleaning and closing. Position: Part-Time Location: Embers Brewhouse, Kamloops, BC Shift availability: weekdays and weekends Closing/evening availability required. $19 -$22 per hour relative to experience

Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation and cooking, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
Handle food safely, adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
Support the team with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to food handling and safety.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is a requirement.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Strong skills in serving, cooking, meal preparation, and food handling.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
