British Columbia Conservation Foundation is seeking an energetic, organized and adaptable person to fill the fast-paced role of Office Admin. The ideal candidate possesses both work and life experience in the natural environment and enjoys working independently as well as within a team environment. The role demands some knowledge in accounting and administration. The ideal individual brings a positive can-do attitude to the job, as well as a willingness to learn, adapt and respond quickly while maintaining a high standard of attention to detail. This is an office-based position.
The Office Administrator will primarily support fellow team members in the Kamloops office, prepare and send documentation to Head Office, update and maintain the organization’s online social media presence and assist the Board of Directors through scheduled notetaking and support. The successful candidatewill coordinate office activities, order and maintain office supplies, and strengthen Kamloops’ project management team by getting things done in a professional, efficient and compliant fashion on behalf of the organization.
Specific tasks include:
- Managing phone calls, correspondence (e-mail, letters, courier packages etc.) on behalf of the Kamloops office
- Keeping office equipment and supplies organized and well maintained
- Assisting Regional Coordinators (RCs) in the following ways:

Code incoming AP invoices for RC approval and processing

Accept/review timesheets and prepare regional payroll for RC review

Enter and maintain database records with contract, subcontract and employee data as directed by RCs
- Assist RCs with other tasks (e.g. printing budget reports, contracts, hire letters, AP and AR) as required
- Tracking office supplies and place orders when necessary
- Submitting timely reports (e.g. Annual Report) and preparing presentations/proposals as assigned
- Managing logistical arrangements, meeting agendas and materials for the Board of Directors
- Attending and taking notes at monthly/quarterly Board of Director Meetings
- Enhancing and maintaining social media platforms
Candidate must live within commuting distance to the Kamloops BCCF Office
Candidate must be legally allowed to work in Canada for the duration of this position
- University and/or college degree in business administration, communications, non-profit management and/or relevant field (or equivalent experience)
- Familiarity with general administrative procedures and general accounting principles
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite and office management software
- Understanding of policies and procedures in an administrative setting
- Experience in developing digital graphics, publications and social media posts

- Experience in non-profit, community or a government role and working with diverse stakeholders including experience with Indigenous communities
