Full job description

City: Kamloops
Reports To: Director of Facilities and Asset Planning
Site location/Program: Property Services
Term: 3 (three) months from start date
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm with ½ hour unpaid break.
Rate: $27.53 - $31.57

Purpose and Function: To assist with all business-related aspects of the work of the Society, in support of the overarching aim of raising achievement and providing an outstanding service to the community with respect to Property Services specifically. To supervise and direct activities of all Society’s owned and leased properties and to advise the Chief Operating Officer on key strategies and decisions in these areas and assist the Leadership Team with any request with funding applications. Service delivery is based on a client centered, non-judgmental perspective.

Specific Responsibilities:

Working with the Directors, Coordinators and Housing Teams to manage all Society unit rentals/evictions;
Working with Maintenance Coordinator & Building Managers/Coordinators to complete all monthly building inspections and ensure building repairs and maintenance are done in a timely manner.
Working with Maintenance Coordinator on Internal building repairs for all sites (plumbers, electricians etc.);
Coordinate and assist with pest control
Coordinate and assist with move-ins, inspections & key control
Working with Housing Managers/Coordinators and Occupational Health and Safety Committee to ensure properties and work sites comply with guidelines (i.e., fire drills/first aid etc.);
Special projects and responsibilities as may be determined by the Leadership Team;
As COA requires, Record Keeping/Reports Required (Monthly/Yearly); Ensure compliance with all ASK supportive standards, policies, and procedures.
Other duties which may or may not be listed within this job description;

Administrative Responsibilities:

Maintain complete documentation, statistics, and records in files and on Share Vision database;
Assist team with required verbal and written reports, case notes, letters, memoranda, and year end reports;
Maintain files and documentation to the COA Standard and when requested, be a member of the COA’s Performance and Quality Improvement team in which you will encourage the organization to use data to identify areas of needed improvement and implement improvement plans in support of achieving performance targets, program goals, client satisfaction, and positive client outcomes.

Qualifications and Suitability:

Position involves a high degree of complexity in dealing with frequent new and varied work situations;
Skills in mediating conflict between various interests;
Strong working knowledge of building maintenance;
Excellent communication, writing, documentation, and organizational skills;
Must pass criminal record check for vulnerable sector and reference screening;
Must have access to vehicle in good working condition and possess valid driver’s license with relevant insurance;
As clients and employees are allowed to have pets, it is noted that this is a pet friendly environment.
