Full job description

We are currently looking to fill a Full Time front desk position at Holiday Inn & Suites Kamloops.

Ideal candidates will have:

-1-2 years previous experience as a hotel reception agent or relevant hospitality work

-Positive and professional attitude
-Strong customer service skills
-Professional phone etiquette
-Basic computer knowledge
-Ability to multi-task and work in an often busy environment
-Excellent verbal & written English communication skills

Tasks and duties will include:

Maintains an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments.
Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms.
Ensuring that each guest receives a warm and welcoming reception at check-in/check-out
Providing information about services available in the hotel and surrounding areas
Processing charges and payments to the appropriate accounts.
Promoting and selling guest rooms
Answering telephones, taking messages, directing calls and processing reservations
Addressing customer inquiries
Coordinates guest room maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance division.
Uses persuasive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
Knows daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
Manages and resolves all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
Willing to do relief night audit to cover sick days and/or holidays if needed
