Full job description

Thyssen Mining is a leading underground mining contractor with operations across Canada. We are seeking experienced Construction Miners to join our growing team in British Columbia. If you take pride in building safe, quality underground infrastructure and enjoy working in a challenging, team-focused environment, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a Construction Miner, you will support underground construction and development activities including:

Concrete placement and finishing
Formwork construction and installation
Shotcrete application and support activities
Installation of underground infrastructure and services
Operation of construction tools and equipment
Ground support and rehabilitation projects
Material handling and site preparation
Conducting workplace inspections and hazard assessments
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Working collaboratively with supervisors, operators, and tradespeople

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of underground mining or construction experience
Experience with formwork, concrete placement, and shotcrete applications
Strong understanding of underground construction practices
Ability to work safely in a production mining environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Physically capable of performing demanding underground work
Commitment to safety and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating jacklegs, pneumatic drills, and underground construction equipment
Underground mine rescue or emergency response training
Valid driver's licence
Experience on development, rehabilitation, or mine construction projects

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in underground environments that may be wet, dusty, and noisy
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment
Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
Must be able to wear required PPE and respiratory protection when necessary
