What would my role be?

Reporting to the Manager, Heat & Power Plant, you will be responsible for:

Firing boilers and controlling the generation of a continuous supply of steam for heating, hot water and for the operation of equipment in the laundry and sterilizing area and kitchen.
You will also be responsible for all emergency calls during silent hours and is the Emergency Response Team Captain.

How do I qualify?

Required:

Completion of High School Diploma, with courses in shop mathematics and blueprint reading.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
Certified as an Operating Engineer, 3rd class in the province of Ontario

Preferred:

Fluent in French and English

What skills should I possess to succeed in the role?

Able to use electronic and pneumatic test equipment
Good motor coordination and manual dexterity with tools and manipulating valves
Able to differentiate colors to detect signal lights indicating malfunctions
Intermediate computer skills.
