Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pool Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall care of swimming pools. This role requires a combination of mechanical knowledge, hands-on skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service to our clients. As a Pool Technician, you will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure that pools are clean, safe, and functioning properly.

Responsibilities

Perform regular maintenance on swimming pools, including cleaning, chemical balancing, and equipment checks.
Open and close residential swimming pools
Install and service pool equipment (pumps, filters, heaters, etc.)
Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively to perform repairs and installations as needed.
Build or repair pool structures as necessary, demonstrating strong mechanical knowledge.
Communicate with clients regarding pool conditions and maintenance needs.
Document all services performed and report any issues or required repairs to management.

Requirements

Proven experience in pool maintenance or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean abstract
Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs
Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in pool maintenance and landscaping tasks.
Certified Gas Technician or Licensed Electrician (An asset)
Ability to dig and maintain landscape areas around pools as part of overall service delivery.
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills related to pool care and maintenance techniques.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively.
Must be detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality work.

AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
