Full job description

Job description:

Working as part of the Retail Team and reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will execute the retail strategy and ensure consistent operational practices across BC sites. This role provides insight, support, and guidance to station operators on guest experience, brand and operating standards, merchandising, product selection, manager training, promotional programs, advertising, and marketing.

Essential Job Responsibilities

· Lead, consult with, and influence store operators and dealers to develop, update, and execute operational plans and strategies, including merchandising, guest experience, and store infrastructure.

· Develop individualized strategies with dealers and store operators, and provide coaching on operational excellence, guest experience, local store marketing, and inventory management.

· Monitor store operations and accountability measures, providing advice, coaching, and support to store management.

· Ensure key processes and plans are in place through regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly store visits, evaluations, and analysis.

· Support dealers in executing company-wide initiatives that enhance customer experience.

· Use sound judgment to escalate non-compliance, process breakdowns, and critical departures from established procedures to senior management.

· Maintain detailed documentation of non-compliance issues, discussions, and follow-up actions to support actions taken at any location.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory health and safety requirements.

· Recruit gas station managers, provide training, and ensure operational readiness for new station openings. Work closely with the Project Management team to coordinate new station launches.

· Build and maintain positive working relationships with dealers, influencing performance through timely coaching, feedback, and support that strengthens overall dealer capability.

· Ensure all food and operational safety guidelines and standards are understood and followed.

· Partner with dealers to identify and remove barriers affecting customer experience, store performance, and profitability, and develop business plans for improvement. Plans may include store operations, local marketing, staff training, and other focus areas.

Required Education and Experience

· 5+ years of petroleum retail experience or comparable retail experience.

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

· Demonstrated record of excellent customer service and quality standards.

· Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments, stakeholders, and team members.

· Demonstrated record of successfully growing sales in a food service or retail environment.

· Understanding of P&L statements, budgeting, and controllable costs.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

· Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

· Comprehensive knowledge of dealer agreement requirements and provisions.

· Ability to interpret policies and procedures and communicate them clearly to others.

· Strong influencing and conflict resolution skills.

Working Conditions

· 60%+ travel required, including overnight and daily travel.

· Comfortable working in a small company, fast-paced, collaborative environment; remote work may be required.
