Looking for Civil Construction Laborer in Kelowna and surrounding area

Copcan Civil is currently seeking experienced Civil Laborers to join our team . This role involves working on job sites that involves underground utility, civil, and construction projects across the area. Since work locations may include other locations in the area, your own transportation is an asset as the sites are not always on the transit routes.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform general labor duties on civil construction sites including digging, grading, raking, and shoveling

Assist with installation of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm)

Support pipe crews with alignment, bedding, and backfilling

Load, unload, and move construction materials and equipment
-
Operate small tools and equipment (plate tampers, cut-off saws, jackhammers, etc.)

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Follow directions from supervisors, foremen, and lead hands

Assist with traffic control and site safety setup as required

Participate in daily toolbox talks and adhere to all company safety policies
Qualifications & Requirements

Previous experience in civil construction or general labor (preferred but not required)

Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, and working in all weather conditions

Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn

Ability to work well in a team environment

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (asset)

Basic understanding of construction safety practices

Confined Space Entry

First Aid (Level 1 or higher)
Working Conditions

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions

Physically demanding environment (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)

Early start times, overtime, and weekend work may be required

Compensation:
This is a Unionized position with Copcan - CSWU Craft Laborers. This position will earn Union wages and will have access to extended Union healthcare and benefits, a Union-sponsored pension plan, and additional training through the Training Plan. Expected hourly rate: Unionized wage range for this position is $21.66- $37.63 per hour (based on candidate’s experience), plus 12% vacation/statutory holiday pay.
