Job Summary: We are seeking motivated, reliable individuals for entry-level demolition and abatement positions. This position reports to the on-site Supervisors. No prior experience is required, we provide comprehensive on-the-job training, including full asbestos certification training for successful candidates. This is a physically demanding role that involves safely dismantling structures and removing hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, and mold. Ideal candidates are safety-focused, hardworking, and eager to learn and grow with the company.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform manual demolition tasks (e.g., removing drywall, flooring, fixtures, and structural components) using hand and power tools.
· Assist with hazardous materials abatement and cleaning, including setting up containment zones, negative air systems, and safe removal/disposal procedures.
· Load/unload materials, clean up job-site debris, and ensure proper waste segregation and disposal.
· Wear and maintain required company provided personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, tyvek suits, gloves, and eye protection. You will supply your own safety boots, high-visibility vest, and hard hat.
· Follow strict WorkSafeBC, provincial, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
· Assist equipment operators, maintain tools, and perform general site preparation and cleanup.
Requirements:
· Ability to perform physically demanding work: lifting 25kg repeatedly, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, kneeling/crouching, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
· Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
· Reliable transportation (job sites across BC; company vehicles provided for some travel).
· Valid driver’s licence considered an asset.
· Must pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
· Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Any construction, labour, or related experience is an asset but not required.
· Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
