Electronics Assembler Job Description

About Jupiter Avionics Corporation: Jupiter Avionics is located in Kelowna, British Columbia. Jupiter Avionics is striving to be one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of audio management solutions for aviation. We are a company on the move and are looking for great people to grow with us.

Summary of Job Position: Jupiter Avionics is looking for an Electronics Assembler to join our expanding team. Reporting to the production manager and operations manager, the Electronics Assembler will be involved with various stages of the company's electronics product manufacturing. The successful candidate will participate in assembling our production-line products as well as assisting in prototype assembly and component removal/replacement as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Hand-soldering through-hole and SMT components on to electronic products according to relevant documents.
Inspecting and aligning completed assemblies for quality and functionality.
Masking and applying conformal coating to products.
Performing mechanical assembly of products.
Troubleshooting and repairing any defects or malfunctions in the assembled products.
Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Packaging finished products in preparation for shipping.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in electronics assembly or a related field is preferred.
Current or previous IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification.
Proficiency in using calipers or other measuring instruments to ensure accurate assembly.

Personal Attributes:

Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work unsupervised and within a team to achieve objectives within appropriate timescales.
Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to respond quickly and precisely to the manager’s requests.
Flexible, motivated and reliable.
Good eyesight for finely detailed tasks.
