Full job description

Midland Transport is currently seeking a professional Class 1 Night Driver based in Kentville, NS . The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.

Main Role:

This run departs from Kentville nightly and typically follow the route: Kentville - Dartmouth - Moncton - Dartmouth - Kentville.

Shift: Mon-Thurs (6pm start)

Pay rate - $0.56/mile

Move trailers safely and efficiently between the plant and yard
Complete regular yard checks, including verifying all equipment onsite, fuel levels, reefer settings, and inside box temperatures
Communicate any equipment issues to the Midland Shop or to Logistics for outside carriers, ensuring no compromised equipment goes unidentified
Execute other tasks as required
Occasional moves between terminals as required

Education Required: High School or GED.
Class 1 driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years’ safe tractor driving experience required.
Clean driver’s abstract and criminal search.
Good communication skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to lift to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.
Excellent work ethic and reliability.
Safety conscious.
