The Opportunity

Joseph Creek Village – Long-Term Care | Cranbrook, BC
Position Type: Part-Time (0.66 FTE)
Shift Schedule: Days / Evening
Shift: 6 hour shifts

We’re seeking a dedicated Health Care Aide who is passionate about providing quality person-centered care and being part of a supportive team environment.

What You'll do

Respect and promote the dignity, choices and individuality of each resident by recognizing them as a whole individual with unique cultural, spiritual and psychological needs;
Provide personal care to residents and provide assistance as required;
Perform delegated clinical procedures, record observations, report problem or condition changes to nurse supervisor and participate in team planning;
Assist resident and families during admission, move-out or transfer process by orientating them to other staff and residents and providing support as required;
Use medical and mobility equipment safely, reporting any malfunctions to the nursing supervisor;
Assist with feeding and other meal-service related duties;
Interact with residents, guests and staff in a courteous and respectful manner;
Complete required documentation;
Follow security and infection control policies and procedures; and,
Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Current registration and in good standing as a Health Care Assistant with the British Columbia Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry (BCCACHWR);
Certificate of completion from a recognized Care aide (HCA) program;
Certificates in First Aid and Food Safe preferred;
Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
Ability to work independently and as a team-player;
Physically capable of lifting up to 10kgs;
Proven computer experience;
Successful clearance of a vulnerable sector-criminal record check
A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
A negative TB test and up-to-date immunization record.
