Overview:

$24.40 / hour

This is a vacant position. Candidates must be a minimum age of 18 years old.

Joining our Canada’s Wonderland team means you’ll help create and maintain a flawless landscaping environment for our guests.

You’ll also…

Oversee daily activities of a small crew and ensure tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner
Operate existing park irrigation system to implement the turf irrigation program: ensuring maximum efficiency; appropriate schedules and application rates are applied as required
Troubleshoot/repair various system components as required (heads/valves/piping)
Assist in the installation of modifications to existing system or the addition of new systems
Assist in the implementation of the turf maintenance program as required (machine mowing, hand mowing and line trimming, seeding, sodding, backpack blowing and fertilizing)
Winterize all irrigation systems, hoses and sprinkler heads using high pressure air compressor
Assist in pre-season (spring) and post-season (fall) site clean-up
Assist with other duties as required

Qualifications:

You!
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of automated/manual commercial irrigation systems
Certified Irrigation Technician status (Landscape Ontario) or equivalent is an asset
Familiarity with plumbing techniques and materials as well as turf maintenance equipment operation and practices
Candidates that are able to meet the physical requirements of the job including bending, lifting, utilizing hand tools and working in various weather conditions (must be able to lift, pull and push 20kg)
Individuals that are able to work cooperatively in a team environment
Candidates with a valid Ontario Driver’s license (class G/G2) with a clean abstract
Individuals that are able to provide their own CSA approved safety footwear
Candidates that have a reliable source of transportation, outside of public transit
Availability to work 6:00am-2:30pm spring, summer and fall and possible shifts from 12am to 9am during the irrigation season (Monday-Friday)
