Fort Glass Inc is looking for a skilled, detail oriented and experienced technician to join our team. You will be performing installations in commercial and residential buildings – involving windows, doors, screens and their associated hardware, custom showers, custom entrances, and automatic operators. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, take pride in craftsmanship, possess analytical thinking skills, and have a solid understanding of tools and materials. Prior experience in working with glass, metal, and low voltage electrical systems is an asset, with an eagerness to further develop skill sets in these areas is highly desirable
Duties/Skills
- Attend service requests, in residential and commercial settings, to assess/perform repairs – including but not limited to commercial doors and hardware, showers, automatic entrance systems, windows, mirrors,
- Accurately measure and assess window and door openings for quoting
- Perform all assigned tasks in a professional tradesperson like manner
- Must be proficient with the use of hand tools such as drills, saws, levels, and caulking guns
- Ability to apply caulking, sealants, or weatherproofing materials
- Ability to climb a ladder or scaffolding
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise installations
- Prepare surfaces as needed before installation
- Perform minor carpentry repairs related to window and door installation
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times
Certificates
· Must maintain a valid driver's licence and CPIC.
· Asset: AAADM Certification
Physical Demands
· Representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:
o Routinely life and carry loads ranging from 10-150 lbs, and greater loads as part of a group effort
o Walk up and down multiple flights of stairs.
o Use of various power tools
o Work a various heights, and on the exterior of multi-story buildings on scaffolding, ladders, powered lifts
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
