Job Overview

Rhodes Resto + Bar Kingston is seeking an experienced, professional, and customer-focused Host/Hostess to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring smooth seating operations and exceptional guest service. This position is best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment and can confidently manage multiple responsibilities.

Duties

Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude
Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating efficiently
Answer phone calls and assist with guest inquiries
Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable entrance area
Coordinate with servers and management to optimize seating and table rotation
Assist guests with special requests and resolve concerns professionally
Support the front-of-house team to ensure smooth daily operations
Follow all company policies and service standards

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of host or front-of-house experience in a full-service restaurant is required
Previous experience using reservation or POS systems is considered an asset
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy service periods
Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
