Full job description

DrugSmart Pharmacy Queens is looking for part-time Pharmacy Assistants to join our team in Kingston, Ontario.
This position is well-suited for students!

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is an asset.
Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll is an asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule:

8 to 16 hours per week (Part-time)
The standard schedule for this position includes evening and weekend shifts.
