Full job description

An exciting opportunity exists in Kingston for a Jr. Accountant with Eikon Device Inc.

Overview
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Jr. Accountant will act as a strong right hand and will be responsible for daily accounting tasks, Payroll processing and administration, assist with the month end close, maintain excel spreadsheets and provide analysis for review with the Financial Controller, s/he will also assist with the year-end, support accounting initiatives as needed, work closely with operations & customer service, and assist with improvement initiatives.

Duties

Accounts Receivable:

Oversee daily imports of customer invoices & processing of payments, checking completeness and validity of transactions by way of reports, reconciliations and inquiries with the customer service team (wkly 8hrs).

You will be the primary contact person and resource for the customer service team for all AR matters.

Ensure AR filing(s) are organized and up to date.

Payroll:

Process bi-weekly payroll (Ceridian)

Prepare payroll JE’s + accruals

Reconcile payroll to GL, yearend T4’s and statements.

Calculate taxable benefits as needed.

General Accounting:

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, compliance reporting (HST,PST,WSIB, etc)

Prepare and post standard & month end journal entries

Perform GL account reconciliations as needed.

Provide analysis of monthly inventory, gross margin and variances, as needed.

Maintain month end excel spreadsheets

Assist with process improvement opportunities

Experience

Formal education in accounting or finance

Minimum 2-3 years progressive accounting experience

Experience using QuickBooks an asset

Experience using Ceridian an asset

Excellent communication skills

Experience working with multiple currencies considered asset

Desire and ability to learn and adapt to new challenges

Ability to work independently and prioritize deadlines

Ability to interact with employees and customers in a courteous and professional manner

Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills

Proficient in MS Excel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
