CFIN is seeking an Email Specialist to join our team on a 6-month contract ending March 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Experience, this role will help plan, build, and deliver email communications that support CFIN’s mission to accelerate food innovation and foster collaboration across Canada.
This is a remote role that works closely with teams across Communications, Programs, Regional Innovation Directors, Business Development, and other internal stakeholders to deliver timely, clear, and effective email communications. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of creative execution, technical setup, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Who You Are
You are a collaborative digital communicator who brings strong attention to detail and a user-focused mindset. You are comfortable moving between strategy and execution, and you understand how well-built emails can help teams stay informed, engaged, and aligned.
You work well across departments, can manage multiple priorities, and are proactive about solving problems. You are also comfortable learning and using tools like Zoho to streamline email workflows and improve consistency.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the creation, formatting, testing, and deployment of email campaigns and automated communications.
- Design email templates that are on-brand, responsive, and easy to use across audience segments.
- Develop templated email copy using AI tools and approved CFIN emails following guidance from the Communications team.
- Build and maintain automation workflows using Zoho platforms, including workflow logic and triggered sends.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather content, confirm requirements, and align emails with broader organizational priorities.
- Maintain clean lists, accurate segmentation, and strong quality control across all sends.
- Help monitor campaign performance and support reporting or basic analysis as needed.
- Improve email processes, template standards, and workflow efficiency over time.
What You Bring
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in email marketing, marketing automation, CRM communications or a related digital marketing role.
- Hands-on experience with Zoho Campaigns, Zoho CRM, or related Zoho tools is strongly preferred.
- Experience working across a marketing technology stack, including email marketing platforms such as Marketo or Eloqua, CRM systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics, and roles in digital communications, marketing operations, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience designing email templates and working in email campaign platforms.
- Proven ability to build automation workflows, segmentation, audience targeting, and knowledge of email best practices and CASL compliance.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to manage detailed work accurately.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge, email QA experience, or familiarity with responsive email design would be an asset.
- An undergraduate degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience managing or updating third-party or external data lists for use in a CRM environment such as Zoho or Salesforce. Past experience with Zoho One applications, including Zoho CRM, Campaign, Forms, Survey, and more, is considered a strong asset.
- Strong ability to review, organize, tag, and maintain content and metadata with accuracy and consistency, including familiarity with CRM systems, databases, and metadata frameworks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word; experience extracting and using Google Analytics data is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess content performance metrics such as views, downloads, and shares, interpret industry trend data, and synthesize findings into clear insights and reports.
- Strong project and task management skills, including the ability to manage routine daily, weekly, and monthly data tasks, track progress against KPIs, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong research and validation skills, including the ability to research industry sectors, locations, and company information to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- A high level of integrity, a positive attitude, and a self-directed, mission-driven approach, with a demonstrated passion for CFIN’s mission and the ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate in both official languages, English and French, is an asset.
- Comfort working in a remote environment, with a PC provided.
- This role may require occasional light travel.
- This is a remote role open to candidates based in Canada.
