InnovOak School is seeking an exceptional Part-Time Intermediate Mathematics, Science, and STEM Teacher to join our growing team.
This position is being created as a result of continued enrolment growth and is expected to begin in September 2026.
The successful candidate will teach a combination of Mathematics, General Science, Field Studies, Coding, Robotics, Engineering, and Financial Literacy to students in Grades 5 to 10, helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence required for success in senior secondary and university preparation courses. This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys building deep conceptual understanding and preparing students for challenging academic pathways rather than simply covering curriculum expectations.
As InnovOak continues to expand its senior school, this position offers the opportunity to help shape a coherent STEM pathway that prepares students for success in MCR3U Functions, SBI3U Biology, SCH3U Chemistry, and SPH3U Physics, while developing strong computational thinking, engineering design, financial literacy, and real-world problem-solving skills throughout the intermediate years.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

Teach Mathematics, General Science, Field Studies, Coding, Robotics, Engineering, and Financial Literacy to students in Grades 5 to 10.

Deliver rigorous Mathematics instruction that develops conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and advanced problem-solving skills.

Teach General Science through inquiry, experimentation, observation, and evidence-based reasoning.

Deliver engaging Field Studies experiences that connect classroom learning with environmental and scientific investigation.

Teach Coding, Robotics, and Engineering while developing computational thinking, programming skills, engineering design, and technology literacy.

Develop practical Financial Literacy skills including budgeting, saving, investing, entrepreneurship, and financial decision making.

Prepare students for success in Ontario university preparation courses including MCR3U, SBI3U, SCH3U, and SPH3U.

Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs while maintaining high academic expectations.

Assess student learning using a variety of strategies and provide timely, meaningful feedback.

Build strong relationships with students and families.

Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum, assessment, and instructional practice.

Qualifications
-
Ontario College of Teachers certification or eligibility for certification is strongly preferred.

Bachelor of Education completed or in progress.

Intermediate and/or Senior qualifications in Mathematics and/or Science are considered strong assets.

Strong understanding of the Ontario Mathematics and Science curriculum.

A specialized background in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology is considered a strong asset, particularly for candidates interested in helping build InnovOak's senior STEM program and preparing students for university preparation science courses.

Experience teaching Coding, Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, or STEM programming is considered an asset.

Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

Experience with Singapore Mathematics, Cambridge curriculum, independent schools, or enriched academic programming is considered an asset.
