Full job description

Supervises and coordinates activities related to food preparation, kitchen and storage areas.
Participates in menu planning and actively manages food production.
Trains and works alongside cooks to ensure quality, speed, safety and health standards are consistently met
Requisitions and apportions food items and utilizes food surpluses to control food costs.
Experience in Indian cooking and culinary skills.
Manage prep, work stations, expedite and call the line
Inventory management
Mange kitchen cleanliness and maintenance
Two to three years’ experience in food production services in a commercial kitchen required.
Must have a current certificate in food handling from local public health unit.
The knowledge and understanding of the proper food handling and storage procedures.
Self-directed and team-oriented, with proficient organizational and problem-solving skills.
Love for Indian cuisine, seasonality and sorting of great ingredients
Creativity and chance to collaborate on menu items
Complete availability for different schedules

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $16 to $20 per hr
Schedule:
Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
Cooking: 2 years (preferred)
Expected start date: July 1st 2022

Job Types: Permanent, Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
