About Us

Ascension Industrial Services provides electrical services to meet all of our customer needs. We specialize in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, shift support, and preventative maintenance. Our team of licensed electricians are able to provide clients with peace of mind through our extensive industrial knowledge and dedication to excellent customer service.

Role and Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Licensed Electrician (309A) to join our team. The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to think creatively when faced with a challenge, and provide practical solutions to technical problems. You will be expected to liaise with customers, engineer, and vendors, to understand problems and provide solutions focused on continuous improvement.

A strong candidate will demonstrate the ability to:

Install and maintain electrical systems including EMT, PVC and rigid conduit, cable tray, instrumentation and controls wiring, new service installations, lighting installations, and more;
Perform preventative maintenance checks/repairs as directed by the client or management;
Wire motors, beacon lights, photo-eyes, and other control devices;
Read and interpret electrical schematics or prints;
Build and wire electrical control panels;
Troubleshoot and repair electrical system break downs including machine break downs and power issues;
Ensure all installations meet local electrical code requirements;
Self organized with the ability to work under minimal supervision;
Plan and schedule projects;
Estimate time and materials needed to complete projects;
Maintain documentation relating to the completion of ongoing projects;
Work with ESA inspectors;
Maintain high level of customer satisfaction through direct contact and coordination of company resources.

Qualifications & Core Skills

2-5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).
Must have experience in an electrical role including construction, panel building, or maintenance.
Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and PLC programming is an asset.
Able to lift weight of up to 50lbs.
Able to work in a warm/cold environment.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.

Education:

309A License required.

Remuneration

Training for a variety of skills is available through internal and external training offerings. Employee progress will be evaluated annually through performance reviews.

· $35.00-$45.00/hr depending on experience

· Full-time, permanent employment

Schedule:

40hrs/week
Shifts may be days/afternoons/nights (as required)
Overtime as applicable
