InnovOak School is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Junior School teachers to join our growing team.

These positions are being created as a result of continued enrolment growth and are expected to begin in September 2026.

Unlike a traditional HomeForm position, this role focuses on subject instruction across Grades 1 to 6. Teaching assignments will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications, instructional strengths, experience, and the needs of the school. Teachers may teach one subject or a combination of subjects depending on annual scheduling and enrolment.

This position is particularly well suited to new graduates and early-career teachers who are looking to build experience across multiple grades and subject areas while working in a collaborative and supportive independent school environment.

Candidates are encouraged to identify the subject areas they are most interested in teaching. Final teaching assignments will be based on teacher strengths and school needs.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Teach one or more Junior School subjects across Grades 1 to 6.
Plan engaging, organized, and academically rigorous lessons.
Create learning experiences that are creative, interactive, and meaningful.
Meet students where they are academically while maintaining high expectations.
Differentiate instruction to support individual student growth.
Build positive relationships with students across multiple grade levels.
Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
Collaborate closely with HomeForm teachers to support student success.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to strengthen curriculum and instructional practice.
Contribute positively to the broader life of the school through clubs, activities, and school events.

Qualifications

Ontario College of Teachers certification or eligibility for certification is strongly preferred.
Applications from new graduates, teacher candidates nearing graduation, and experienced teachers are encouraged.
Bachelor of Education completed or in progress.
Strong knowledge of one or more elementary subject areas.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
A willingness to teach a variety of subjects based on school needs.
Experience with Cambridge curriculum, independent schools, or enriched academic programming is considered an asset but is not required.

Selection will be based primarily on demonstrated teaching ability, professionalism, subject knowledge, creativity, collaboration, and the ability to inspire student learning.
