The Position:

PLEASE NOTE: This job has two locations. Candidates must be available to work at both locations in Cambridge or Kitchener.

A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old using our fun, gentle and progressive methods. You will receive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role! A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning.

MINIMUM Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR Certification(s) REQUIRED.
Swimming and/or Instructing: 1-2 years Experience.
Enthusiastic personality!
Experience in the water teaching.
Must maintain ALL certifications throughout the length of employment.
Must complete ALL required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with children.
Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.

Your Typical Responsibilities:

Support the Aquatics Leader/Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment.
Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
Maintain certifications throughout employment.
Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high AND stand in the water for up to 4 consecutive hours.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Enthusiastic personality with strong relationship and customer service skills.
Effectively communicate with customers and employees, bi-lingual is a plus.
Disciplined to follow schedules and enforce safety procedures as well as follow policies, teaching methods and procedures of British Swim School.
Able to multi-task in a changing environment with priorities in order.
MUST have the ability to work at any of our locations (Kitchener & Cambridge)
