The Organization

Operating as a non-profit society since 1977, Etana provides support services to adults with developmental disabilities. We work with individuals in the city of Red Deer and area, with our office located in Red Deer. Etana continues to grow with respect to the number of individuals supported and personnel and are adaptive with our services to meet the needs of each individual.

Job Description

You will confidently provide direct individualized support to adults with developmental disabilities will complete your duties ensuring that services provided are of the maximum possible benefit to the personal growth, independence and increased social inclusion of individual(s). You will also ensure that services are operated in accordance with standards as set out by Etana, Disability Services and C.A.R.F Accreditation Standards.

Hours

We are currently recruiting Casual Residential Support Workers in multiple settings to provide support for individuals with development disabilities in Red Deer.

Hours will vary based on program and organizational needs. Casual employees are employed on an "on-call" basis to cover absences of a regular employee or to provide additional support during peak periods. Casual employees are expected to communicate their ongoing availability with the employer.

Minimum Requirements

· High School Diploma or Mature Status

· Class 5 Driver's License, reliable vehicle and valid insurance

· 1 year Experience in Human Service Field

· Emergency First Aid & CPR Certificate or Better

· Clear Vulnerable Sector check

· Experience with personal care

REQUIRED TRAINING ( this training is available through Etana)

· Abuse Protocol/ Protection of Persons in Care Act.

· SIVA (Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments)

· Medication Administration

· Food Safe

· Rights, Roles & Responsibilities
