Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Cafe Manager to lead our cafe operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves overseeing daily cafe activities, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. Previous restaurant management, hospitality, or hotel experience is highly valued, along with expertise in food preparation, cooking, and food handling. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in driving the success of our establishment through effective team management and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service
- Supervise and train staff in food preparation, serving, and customer service standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain stock
- Implement and uphold health and safety protocols within the cafe environment
- Maintain high standards of hospitality, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests
- Develop staff schedules, assign duties, and supervise team performance
- Address customer concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Assist in menu planning and contribute ideas for improving the cafe experience
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or food service leadership, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Experience with POS systems
- Demonstrated supervising experience with team management skills
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of staff members
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and restaurant safety standards
- Experience training staff members
- Familiarity with kitchen operations and food industry best practices
- Leadership qualities combined with strong organizational skills
- Previous barista experience or restaurant experience is advantageous
