At Maple Leaf Disposal, our drivers are the backbone of our operation. We take pride in providing modern equipment, supportive leadership, and consistent year-round work while serving communities throughout the region. We have immediate openings for a waste truck driver* (REAR LOAD & SIDE LOAD) (Class 3 or better).

Our priority is to give our drivers a great paying career with great incentives! As a rear-load truck/side-load driver, you are responsible for waste collection services in various municipalities. You will ensure that the waste collection is safely transported and disposed of at designated transfer stations or landfills. This job is very physical and works outside in all weather conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure safe operation of a truck while driving, loading, and unloading.

Drive to the customer location for pickup, and position the truck safely to ensure a safe lift.

Hoist totes onto the truck and empty contents using a hydraulic lift or by hand when necessary.

Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable service.

Complete special pickups, as requested by Dispatch.

Dump contents at the designated transfer station or landfill.

Complete daily paperwork in a neat and accurate manner.

Pre- and post-trip inspections.

Document any concerns and take pictures to be checked by the supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 2 years prior rear-load/side-load experience

Must be physically fit, understanding you will be in and out of the truck multiple times per day.

Must be able to work alone and with minimal supervision.

Must have class 3 or 1 BC driver's license.

Must be able to supply steel-toe boots

Capable of problem solving, critical thinking, job task planning, map/address reading, organizing, and significant use of memory.

Must be able to supply a clean, commercial driver's abstract.

Understand company safety guidelines.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Fast-paced environment.

Able to perform physical labour including pushing, pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level, standing, crouching, bending, and carrying over 70 lbs.

Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions.

This is not "just a driving" job. This position contains approximately 70% driving and 30% labor.
