Full job description

B&B Contracting Group is currently seeking a dedicated Concrete Finisher to join our growing company in our Excavation & Shoring Division.

Key Responsibilities

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Fabricate and erect forms for civil concrete construction.
Set forms for curbs, sidewalks, and flatworks.
Place and finish concrete.
Perform miscellaneous concrete works and skilled labor tasks.
Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials.
Direct the placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages as required.
Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces.
Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
Uphold a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and work procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

Journeyman Certification or a minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete finishing.
Physical ability to perform tasks involving moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and carrying.
Willing to travel to Vancouver Island and other locations within the Lower Mainland.
Valid driver's license and transportation.
Ability to read and interpret drawings is an asset.
Experience working with curbing machines is an asset.
Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and maintain them in proper operating condition.
Ability to work in various weather conditions in outdoor environments.

COMPENSATION

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $38.00 - $41.00 per hour

Hourly pay rate will be adjusted based on skills and experience.
