Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying joint compound to drywall seams, taping, and finishing surfaces to ensure a smooth and professional appearance. This role requires attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. Prior construction experience and knowledge of blueprint reading are highly valued. The Drywall Taper will contribute to the successful completion of residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams, corners, and joints with precision and consistency
Finish surfaces by sanding, smoothing, and preparing for painting or further finishing processes
Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to ensure accurate application of materials
Use hand tools and power tools effectively for taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing drywall surfaces
Coordinate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to facilitate smooth workflow
Maintain a clean work area by disposing of debris and organizing tools and materials efficiently
Assist with caulking and minor carpentry tasks as needed to support project completion

Requirements

Proven experience in drywall taping, finishing, or related construction roles
Knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, caulking, and handyman skills preferred
Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions
Reliable work ethic with good communication skills
Prior construction experience is highly desirable but not mandatory for motivated learners
