Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced BBQ Pitmaster to join our culinary team at the end of June. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for barbecue (and making pizza!), exceptional cooking skills, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft delicious meats and lead the preparation of signature dishes in a lively outdoor restaurant environment. The BBQ Pitmaster will be responsible for overseeing the entire smoking process, ensuring high-quality food service, and maintaining a clean and efficient outdoor kitchen workspace.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of barbecue dishes, including smoking meats to perfection
Making outdoor pizza
Oversee the entire food preparation process, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation standards
Maintain cleanliness of the cooking area, tools, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation during busy hours
Assist in menu development by suggesting new recipes or techniques to enhance offerings
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies needed for barbecue preparation

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, and cooking within a restaurant or food industry setting
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
Excellent skills in meal preparation, especially in smoking and grilling techniques for barbecue dishes
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
Good communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction
Kitchen experience with familiarity in restaurant operations is preferred
Passion for the food industry with a focus on authentic barbecue craftsmanship
