Full job description

Job Summary

Essex Weld Solutions is actively seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to work in our Essex, Ontario location. The successful candidate will provide support to the Controller and will be responsible for the Accounts Receivables of our US locations.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Assist the Accounting team with all aspects of Accounts Receivable to ensure smooth financial operations.
Process and apply customer payments to customer accounts
Monitor accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
Follow up with customers regarding overdue accounts by phone, email or written correspondence
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies or billing issues.
Process credit memos, adjustments and refunds as required.
Work closely with Sales, and other departments to resolve invoice and payment issues
Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, account balances, and payment status in a professional and timely manner
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations
Prepare reports related to accounts receivable and collections.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures and internal controls
Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
Cross-train to effectively cover other positions when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Advanced computer skills required.
Excellent communication skills in written and verbal formats
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines and perform well in high pressure situations.
