Full job description

Job Description:

The Accounting Technician is accountable to the Owner/Senior Manager in the execution of client service, specific accounting and client file management and client relations. This position includes but is not limited to preparation of financial information, tax returns, bookkeeping, GST, farm programs, and direct client follow up.

Qualifications:

Preference given to people with office and past accounting work experience
Must have a clean criminal record and must provide a clearance copy if requested
Must be able to maintain confidentiality, respect privacy and be discrete
Must be able to multitask and set personal timelines and accountability to tasks
Detailed knowledge of accounting processes
Able to work in a team environment
Ability to build customer and client relationships
Able to resolve customer issues in a professional and courteous manner
Formal education in accounting practices
Excellent communication and listening skills
Able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Experience in a customer service environment
Proficient computer skills and experience using a variety of computer programs. Preference will be given to candidate with experience using MS Office, Quickbooks Desktop and QBO, Caseware, Profile, and Client Track. Strong organization skills physically and digitally
