Location: 102008 Range Road 222, Coalhurst, AB T0L 0V0
Work location: On site
Salary $18.34 hourly / 40-50 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Early morning, Evening, Morning, Night, Day, Weekend, Overtime required
Starts as soon as possible
Benefits: Health benefits (available after 3 months employment)

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: Experience an asset

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Dairy

Work setting: Rural area

Equipment and machinery experience: Milking system (automated), Tractor, Farm truck

Area of specialization: Dairy cattle

Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is not available

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently, Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Large workload, Hand-eye co-ordination

Personal suitability: Organized, Team player, Quick learner

Job Duties

Milk cows
Handling animals
Monitoring animal health
Detect disease and health problems in livestock
Treat livestock health issues
Perform livestock feeding
Prepare a clean, dry area for cows that are calving
Monitor the calving process
Feed and tend animals
Formulate feeding program
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment (including milk pasteurizer and filtration machines)
Disinfect pens and barns
Clean barns, barnyards and pens
Maintain livestock performance records
Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
Packaging dairy products
Clean and maintain equipment and tools
Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
Perform general farm duties
