Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Decision Support & Data Analytics Supervisor is a senior technical and supervisory role responsible for leading the hospital's data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence functions. The incumbent oversees a team of Decision Support Analysts and Health Information Management (HIM) Coders, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable data to support clinical, operational, and strategic decision-making.
As a key contributor within a seven-organization EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) partnership and a five-organization Microsoft Peregrine / Azure data platform partnership, the Supervisor plays a critical role in advancing interoperable analytics, cross-organizational data governance, and cloud-based reporting capabilities across the regional health network.

Essential Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Information Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare decision support, data analytics, or health information management.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated experience with EPIC reporting tools (Cogito, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Peregrine, Azure Data Services, or Power BI in a production environment.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (T-SQL or equivalent) for querying and data validation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Peregrine components: data factory pipelines, lakehouses, warehouses, notebooks, semantic models, and Power BI.
- Experience with Azure services: Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Active Directory / Entra ID.
- Strong command of data visualization and dashboard development (Power BI preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 productivity tools.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and lead through ambiguity.
- Collaborative team player with experience working in multi-organizational or partnership environments.
- Commitment to accuracy, data quality, and patient privacy.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments and partner organizations.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to reliable vehicle for travel to partner organization sites.

Preferred Qualifications
- CHIM (Certified Health Information Management) designation or eligibility is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with ICD-10-CA / CCI coding or oversight of a coding team is a significant asset.
- Familiarity with CIHI data submission processes (DAD, NACRS, HMDB) is an asset.
- Familiarity with HL7 FHIR, healthcare data standards, and clinical terminologies (SNOMED CT, LOINC) is an asset.
Hours of Work
Hours of work for this position are 37.5 hours/week, days, Monday to Friday. Participation in on-call or after hours support may be required.
