Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Licensed Auto Body Painter/Prep Man/Body Man to join our automotive repair team. This role is essential in restoring vehicles to their original condition through expert painting, bodywork, and preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, dealership experience preferred, and possess the mechanical knowledge necessary to perform high-quality repairs efficiently. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment focused on craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Duties

Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment.
Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, and masking to ensure a smooth finish
Apply primer, paint, and clear coat using spray guns and other power tools with precision and attention to detail
Repair or replace damaged body panels, fenders, doors, and other vehicle components using hand tools and heavy lifting techniques
Perform bodywork repairs including dent removal, filling, sanding, and shaping to restore vehicle integrity
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automotive body systems
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards at all times
Assist with vehicle disassembly and reassembly as needed during repair processes
Ensure all repairs meet dealership or company quality standards

Qualifications

Valid auto body painter license or certification required
Dealership experience is highly desirable
Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair processes
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment used in auto body work
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy vehicle parts
Prior experience with automotive repair or mechanic work is required.
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and a professional attitude
