LOMOND COMMUNITY SCHOOL- Lomond
Lomond Community School is a grade 1 - 12 school that operates on a four-day work week in the small rural town, Lomond. We are a school of close to 100 students and a small but close staff team. Our motto is All Staff for All Students which is symbolic of our collaboration and commitment to seeing every student succeed.
Regular Educational Assistant - approx. 30 hours/week
Hours of work include - Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 3:42 p.m. & seven (7) Fridays throughout the school year.
Assignment includes - We are seeking someone who is self-motivated, compassionate, patient, and teachable. The bulk of this position is in the grade 1/2 classroom where students are just beginning their educational journey. This educational assistant will work one-on-one with students, in small groups, and as a general classroom assistant. All educational assistants are asked to work collaboratively, demonstrating flexibility and deep care for our students.

An Educational Assistant in Horizon School Division:-
Encourages students to develop and maintain positive interaction.

Maintains confidentiality and a patient, supportive and enthusiastic commitment to students.

As required, provides personal care including toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, grooming, etc. ensuring that student dignity is maintained. Attends to physical needs including lifting, positioning, and range of motion programs as identified by appropriate personnel.

Ensures the safety of students in the school and community, which includes maintaining close supervision of students, ensuring student equipment is sanitized and put away, retrieving students who attempt to leave their learning environment, calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting students who utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e., scissors, cooking utensils, etc.).

Maintains collegial relationships with the students' learning team.
