About Us
The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).

An examination of theoretical, philosophical, historical, and developmental perspectives on nursing science. The course includes critical analysis of theory and research as they relate to the development of key nursing concepts.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a minimum of a graduate degree in Nursing or a related field (e.g., MScN, MPH); PHD preferred.
A current, unrestricted registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is required.
Applicants must demonstrate recent and relevant Registered Nurse clinical practice experience that aligns directly with the subject matter of the course.
Particular consideration will be given to candidates whose clinical, regulatory, or professional expertise reflects specialized practice areas required for the delivery of course content and is not otherwise readily available within the unit.
Evidence of effective and successful teaching performance at the post-secondary level, appropriate to the course mode of instruction (e.g., in-person, clinical, simulation, or online), is considered a significant asset.
Evidence may include, but is not limited to, teaching evaluations, peer or supervisory assessments, teaching dossiers, curriculum development, or other indicators of learner achievement and instructional effectiveness.
Applicants should demonstrate recognized expertise or specialization in the relevant subject area, supported by academic preparation, professional nursing practice, and/or notable professional achievements aligned with the learning objectives of the course.

Course offerings could be assigned to the workload of full-time faculty or to part-time faculty with seniority or preference rights in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, or left unfilled based on operational/enrolment requirements. All positions are subject to budget approval.
