The campus environment requires proactive patrols, student engagement, incident response, and enforcement of campus policies. Security personnel contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful academic setting.
Position: Part Time Team Lead

Hours: Thursday, Friday and Saturday (8PM to 3AM)
Payrate: $22/hr
Union Status: Non-union
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly

Key responsibilities

Working on assigned shifts, you will oversee the residence check-in guards and act as a liaison between the guards and other side contacts.

Maintaining confidentiality, you will be expected to interact with students, staff and members of the public to provide directions and promote good customer service while providing a security presence.

Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites and ensure client rules and regulations are followed

Check In each student – confirm that they are in residence with ID
-
Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports such as security breaches, facility safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency services such as police, fire and ambulance personnel as required.

Enforce compliance to company policies and procedures

Training other staff members whenever necessary

First Aid – be prepared to administer when required

Maintaining a positive, productive work environment

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Prerequisites
-
Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
-
Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)

Authorized to legally work in Canada
-
English (oral and written) fluency is a must
-
6 months to 1 year experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor is a must
-
Must possess excellent customer service skills

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
