Financial Operations Manager (Plant Controller)

The Opportunity:
This high-visibility role operates in a “CFO-like” capacity, partnering closely with Operations leadership to drive strategic initiatives, prioritize business objectives, and achieve financial targets. Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:
· Participate in daily operational review meetings, delivering actionable analysis of prior-day performance
· Collaborate with Operations leadership to understand key decisions and their financial impact
· Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities across materials, labor, overhead, and other manufacturing costs
· Support development of the annual operating plan in partnership with Operations
· Conduct financial modeling and analysis, including product costing, cost savings initiatives, capital planning, and special projects
· Partner cross-functionally with Operations, R&D, Marketing, and Sales to support new product costing and innovation initiatives
· Deliver monthly financial presentations to executive leadership, clearly communicating performance and insights
· Prepare and analyze weekly KPI metrics, including variance analysis against budget and forecast
· Oversee daily cost accounting activities and ensure timely completion of all reporting requirements
· Evaluate and improve business controls and processes in collaboration with management
Ideal Qualifications and Competencies:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
· 3+ years of experience in FP&A or Cost Accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment using standard costing
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into business insights
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving organization with a proactive and adaptable mindset
· Solid understanding of cost accounting principles
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems
· Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets
· Collaborative approach with strong problem-solving capabilities
· Travel - 10% to Vancouver, British Columbia
Pay: $110,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
