- Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in science or related field
- Radiation Safety Officer Certificate preferred
- Member of Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) preferred
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate preferred
- X-ray Safety Officer Certificate preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of recent relevant experience required
- Five (5) years of recent relevant experience preferred
- Experience with medical physics/x-ray or nuclear medicine physics is an asset
- Demonstrated experience developing and interpreting complex regulatory documents
- Expert knowledge of applicable legislation and acts (including Nuclear and Control Act, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, HARP Act)
- Expert knowledge of Health Physics and Radiation Safety, nuclear physics principles, radiation detection instrumentation, dosimetry, effects of ionizing radiation
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple and competing priorities
- Highly developed critical thinking skills with ability to conceptualize and develop solutions
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills including various databases
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
