We are looking for an experienced, people-focused property management professional to join a growing residential real estate portfolio in St. Thomas, Ontario. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role at a beautiful newer apartment community with great residents, a supportive ownership group, and an established on-site building manager already in place.
We’re seeking someone who is calm, caring, professional, and operationally strong - someone who leads with both accountability and integrity. The right person will enjoy mentoring others, building positive resident relationships, creating structure and consistency, and helping a growing organization continue to mature and thrive.
This role is ideal for a seasoned Property Manager who enjoys being hands-on while also contributing strategically. You’ll work closely with ownership and help guide day-to-day operations, support and mentor on-site staff, improve systems, and ensure an exceptional resident experience.
About the Role
As the senior operational lead for the property, you will oversee building operations, resident experience, maintenance coordination, vendor relationships, compliance, budgeting, and team leadership. While there is an on-site building manager handling daily front-line responsibilities, this role provides the senior oversight, coaching, structure, and operational leadership needed to support long-term success.
This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys people, communicates with professionalism and warmth, and can confidently balance compassion with accountability.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Mentor and support the on-site building manager and property staff
- Oversee day-to-day building operations and ensure high service standards
- Build positive relationships with residents, contractors, and vendors
- Support resident communication, issue resolution, and retention
- Conduct property walkthroughs and operational reviews
- Coordinate maintenance priorities, preventative maintenance, and contractor performance
- Help improve operational systems, organization, and accountability
- Assist with budgeting, expense oversight, and operational reporting
- Ensure compliance with Ontario residential tenancy and health & safety requirements
- Support ownership with operational recommendations and problem-solving
- Step in calmly and effectively during urgent situations or operational challenges
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of residential property management experience
- Experience overseeing apartment buildings or multi-residential properties
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
- Professional, emotionally steady, and solution-oriented
- Excellent communication and resident service skills
- Strong organizational and operational skills
- Financially literate with budgeting and vendor management experience
- Solid understanding of Ontario residential tenancy legislation
- Comfortable balancing hands-on operational work with strategic thinking
- Someone who takes pride in creating well-run, welcoming communities
The Environment
We believe great buildings start with great people. Our culture is collaborative, respectful, and relationship-driven. We value professionalism, kindness, accountability, and good judgment. Ownership is engaged and supportive, and the property itself is a newer community with strong residents and a positive atmosphere.
This is an opportunity to join a growing organization where your experience, leadership, and ideas will truly make an impact.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: approximately $80,000–$100,000, depending on experience
- Potential performance incentives
- Vehicle allowance
- Phone/laptop provided
- Benefits package (if applicable)
- Long-term growth opportunity within the portfolio
If you’re an experienced property management professional looking for a meaningful leadership role within a supportive and people-focused environment, we’d love to hear from you.
