About Us

The Department of Paediatrics encourages and develops innovative research in a collaborative setting focusing on child health. Our undergraduate and postgraduate education programs enrich the student experience to provide the knowledge and skills needed to ensure exemplary care across multidisciplinary paediatric sub-specialties. Exceptional specialized clinical care is provided to children in South Western Ontario from faculty committed to child health.

Key Goals of the Unit:
To strive for excellence in child health care, teaching and research to promote child health while providing optimal care for sick children and their families. To provide unique child health education and service in Southwestern Ontario, operating within a provincial network for delivery of specialized care.

Responsibilities

The Research Associate will be responsible for supporting and overseeing all aspects of one or more projects within a research group, department, or Faculty. Roles and duties:

Coordinating day-to-day activities of the research project
Ensuring compliance with study goals and objectives
Facilitating focus groups and interviews.
Data collection, processing, and analysis
Ensure institutional requirements are met and maintained
Facilitate ethics renewals and amendments as needed

Qualifications

Education:

Undergraduate Degree

Experience:

3 years' work experience in a related field

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

Familiarity with best practices in building a strong collaborative team and leading people
Familiarity with project life cycles
Familiarity with techniques for planning, managing and coordinating projects, with competing priorities that involve a variety of stakeholders
Familiarity with best practices for change management
Communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Results-oriented with the ability to motivate and coach employees to meet high performance standards
Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
Strong client focus with a desire to achieve results
