Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer. Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada. In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing).

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and technically skills and will work with customers and the DLS team to install and service biogas equipment at dairy farms. You will be part of a team responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of various biogas equipment and machinery. The role requires a strong technical/mechanical background, attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. You r expertise will ensure optimal system performance, safety and customer satisfaction through proactive filed service and technical support.

Once trained, there will be a requirement for this individual to be on call for emergency service, this would mean one night per week and one weekend each month.

Job Duties
Install and commission biogas equipment in accordance with schematics, technical manuals and safety standards
Install mechanical equipment such as pumps and valves, other types of equipment one would support include screw press separation, centrifugal pumps, manure agitator and scrapers, positive displacement pumps, process controls such as pressure, temperature, ultrasonic level sensors and pneumatic operated knife gate valves, gas analysis equipment, piston pumps and gear boxes.
Perform routine maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs on biogas systems including hydraulics, electrical components and mechanical parts
Use precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues involving low voltage and high voltage systems
Operate forklifts, scissor lifts and other industrial equipment safely during installation and service tasks
Interpret schematics and control system diagrams involving programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) and industrial electrical components
Provide exceptional customer service by clearly communicating technical information and resolving customer concerns efficiently maintaining a professional and collaborative relationship and image with our customers
Provide quality workmanship consistent with company and industry standards
Follow Health and Safety requirements in all regards ensuring prevention of illness/injury
Completion of necessary paperwork on time

Skills and Qualifications
Solid background and understanding of electronics, plumbing, pumps, hydraulics and augers
Proven experience working in manufacturing facilities or industrial maintenance environments with a focus on mechanical or electrical systems
Hands on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLS’s), schematics and industrial control systems
Background industrial electrician work or electrical troubleshooting involving high voltage and low voltage
Strong analysis with the ability to diagnose mechanical or electrical issues
Prior field service experience in biogas or renewable energy equipment is a plus
Highly organized to plan your day and prioritize your workload meeting strict deadlines and ensuring customer satisfaction
Ability to work independently or as part of team and take ownership of assigned work
Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with customers regarding the work being done
Ability to perform physical tasks that may require climbing, lifting, pushing, bending/stooping
Mechanical aptitude/ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment
Works well with a sense of urgency/takes action and initiative
Maintenance welding experience
Service Technician experience and/or background in the dairy industry would be an asset
Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada
Valid G driver’s license with a clean abstract
