Pay: $40.00 - $44.00/hr + Benefits & Pension
Schedule: 48+ hours/week | Day shift | Monday–Friday with occasional weekends
We are seeking experienced and reliable Curb & Gutter Cement Finishers to support concrete curb and gutter construction throughout London and surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing and shaping freshly placed concrete to achieve accurate lines, grades, profiles, and high-quality finished surfaces. This position requires individuals who take pride in quality workmanship, work safely and efficiently, and are comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced construction environment.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience as a Cement Finisher, with experience in curb and gutter construction required.
Responsibilities
- Finish and shape freshly placed concrete for curb and gutter installations
- Use hand tools and power equipment to achieve accurate profiles, edges, joints, and surface finishes
- Check concrete placement and formwork to ensure proper dimensions, grades, and alignment
- Perform edging, floating, troweling, broom finishing, and other finishing techniques as required
- Assist with concrete placement and maintain proper concrete levels throughout the finishing process
- Work closely with curb machine operators, string line setters, labourers, and other crew members to maintain production and quality
- Monitor finished work and make adjustments as required to meet project specifications and quality standards
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality control, and site safety
- Keep worksites clean, organized, and safe for crew members and the public
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and industry standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Cement Finisher, with experience in curb and gutter construction required
- Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques, including edging, floating, troweling, and broom finishing
- Experience using hand and power tools for concrete finishing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs., crouching, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
