Canada Connects Volunteer Coordinator
Report to:
The Canada Connects Volunteer Coordinator will be an employee of Northwest London Resource Centre (NWLRC). Day-to-Day supervision/consultation will be provided by the Associate Director. Supervision will be provided in the form of formal meetings as well as informal support as requested by the Canada Connects Volunteer Coordinator.
Qualifications:
Social Service Worker Diploma, Social Work Degree, related fields of expertise or extensive experience of over 3 years actively supporting newcomers and referring newcomers, refugees and immigrants to needed services.
Compensation:
$53,917.50
Hours:
This is a full-time position running Monday to Friday, with 37.5 hours per week. Some evenings and weekends will be required.
Duties:
The Canada Connects Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing the Canada Connects program to support newcomers by fostering meaningful connections with community volunteers. This includes organizing mentorship programs, recruiting and supporting volunteers, and creating opportunities for newcomers to enhance their skills, sense of belonging, and engagement within the community.
Key Responsibilities: Program Development and Coordination:
- Design and implement the Canada Connects program in line with IRCC objectives and organizational goals.
- Develop a comprehensive work plan, including recruitment, training, and matching processes for volunteers and newcomers.
- Organize and facilitate one-on-one mentorship sessions and group activities to build community connections and improve newcomer engagement.
Volunteer Recruitment and Management:
- Recruit, train, and support community volunteers to serve as mentors and program facilitators.
- Maintain a system for tracking volunteer engagement, hours, and contributions.
- Support volunteers in delivering high-quality mentorship and community-based programs.
Community Outreach and Partnership Development:
- Conduct outreach to recruit newcomers and volunteers in Northwest London and surrounding areas.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with service providers, and community organizations to enhance program delivery and volunteer opportunities.
- Act as a liaison to connect volunteers and newcomers with additional services and supports in the community.
Program Support and Administration:
- Ensure proper and confidential handling of client and volunteer information.
- Collect and analyze participant and volunteer feedback through surveys, evaluations, and other tools to track program outcomes.
- Enter program data into the IRCC-approved system (iCARE) and generate statistical and narrative reports as required.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and community events.
- Ensure all program equipment is maintained and appropriately used.
- Operate in accordance with NWLRC policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.

- First Aid and CPR certified.
- Must have a registered Social Insurance Number and eligible to work in Canada.
- Satisfactory Canadian criminal background checks are a MUST and if you do not have it, it would be paid by the Agency
