Full job description

Yard location: Laval

Workdays: Monday to Friday

No work on Weekends

No work on Statutory Holidays

Shift Start time: 8AM to 8PM (End shift depends on volume of freight and or delays)

What you will do:

Drive a Refrigerated Sprinter - Mercedes Benz Cargo Van to deliver freights to assigned stops within Montreal and surrounding areas
Deliver freights in good condition and within scheduled time
35 deliveries daily and up to 5 pick-ups
Use a handheld device to scan documents and freights
Load and Unload freight in proper sequence with the use of a dolley (lift up to 70lbs)
Complete any necessary paperwork accurately
Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection
Report on all safety hazards and accidents
Use a cellular phone to communicate with dispatch ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc….
Provide excellent customer service
Build strong client relationships
Adhere to safety and compliance regulations
Additional duties as required

What you will get:

Hourly paid $21.00/hr.
Paid bi-weekly
City driving only – Home daily; No long haul or US deliveries;

What we require of you:

French is a must
High School Diploma
Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Clean Commercial Driver's Abstract
1 year+ experience of high volume deliveries in a Cargo Van or 3 Ton Truck is a MUST
Load and Unload freight in proper sequence with the use of a dolley (35 deliveries and up to 5 pick-ups daily)
Capable of doing physical labour – lift up to 70lbs.
Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
Experience with courier service is an asset
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Customer Focus – experience providing quality customer service
Adaptable to change
Experience working in a fast paced environment
Experience working independently and with minimal supervision
Ability to work on a team and being a team player
Must be comfortable with using onboard or handheld computer devices
Must have a safety and compliance mind set

What we require of you:

Must speak French
High School Diploma
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Clean Commercial Driver’s Abstract
Courier or LTL experience is an asset
Minimum 1 year Commercial driving experience
This shift will be Monday to Friday with 12 hours of work/day. Overtime will be paid.
Capable of doing physical labour with a great degree of strength and stamina – lift up to 70lbs
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
Customer Focus – experience providing quality customer service
Adaptable to change
Experience working in a fast paced environment
Experience working independently and with minimal supervision
Ability to work on a team and being a team player
Must be comfortable with using onboard or handheld computer devices
Must have a safety and compliance mind set
