Full job description

My client is a well-established major electrical contractor that manages a diverse portfolio of projects that includes major ICI (industrial, commercial, institutional), multi-family and masterplan communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project coordinator to join a dynamic and successful team; you will work on some of the most exciting and news worthy projects BC has to offer. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and well-respected leaders in the industry that will give you all the tools and knowledge you need to continue to grow and succeed.

In this role you will:

Assisting project managers with day-to-day project administration
Coordinating schedules for electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, and site activities
Tracking project progress, milestones, and deadlines
Preparing and maintaining RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, shop drawings, and change orders
Reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Communicating with general contractors, consultants, engineers, vendors, and clients
Ordering and tracking electrical materials, equipment, and deliveries
Monitoring project budgets, labour hours, invoices, and cost reports
Assisting with tendering, bid packages, and procurement processes
Maintaining project documentation, reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence
Supporting site supervisors and foremen with coordination issues
Ensuring permits, inspections, and compliance requirements are tracked and completed
Helping manage deficiencies, closeout documents, and project turnover packages
Updating construction schedules and helping resolve scheduling conflicts
Tracking safety documentation, orientations, and compliance paperwork
Attending site meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings
Assisting with progress billing, purchase orders, and contract administration
Monitoring material lead times and helping prevent project delays
Supporting quality control and ensuring work follows drawings and specifications
Coordinating commissioning and testing activities for electrical systems
Acting as a communication link between office staff and field crews

Requirements

2_+ years working for an electrical contractor in North America
Worked on new build residential project (ideally high-rise)
Willing to consider new build ICI
Strong communicator both written and verbal
Related educated in construction or electrical engineering an asset
Open to red seals looking to move into the office side of the role
Can commute to the office in Coquitlam 5 days a week
Experience with Bluebeam and MS Office
Ability to read blueprints and drawings

Compensation

$70,000 - $90,000 (depending on experience)
2-3 weeks vacation
