JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Responsibilities
- Report daily to the Project Supervisor
- Engage in new builds and renovations, both residential and commercial
- Organize and prioritize work
- Read and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Complete work in a professional and timely fashion
- Supervise a helper to aid in completion of tasks
- Organize equipment and building materials
- Operate equipment including skid steer, telehandler and payloader
Work Environment
- Physical activity in a project environment (both inside and outside) such as pushing and pulling, crouching, bending, reaching, as well as some climbing and working at heights
- Work on sites can be noisy, odorous, hot, humid, cold and/or dusty
- Occasional lifting of equipment up to 50 kg
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience (e.g. 5 years' work experience in a trade) preferred
- 3 years of residential renovations or property maintenance experience
- Previous work experience (can include part time or summer employment during high school and college)
- Supervisor/lead hand experience is an asset
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Proficient in one or more of the following: Framing, insulating, drywalling, flooring (laminate, tile, hardwood)
- Time management
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Punctual and reliable
