Muskoka Lumber, a trusted name in the building materials industry, is looking for dedicated and reliable Lumber Yard Attendants to join our team.

In this active, physical role, your focus on safety, accuracy, and customer support will help ensure a smooth and efficient yard operation. Whether you’re preparing orders, loading materials, maintaining stock, or keeping the yard tidy, you’ll be an important part of our hardworking team that keeps Muskoka building.

This position offers a clear career path with the potential to serve as a stepping stone toward Lead Hand, Foreperson, or Lumber Yard Supervisor roles.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Lumber Yard Attendant at Muskoka Lumber, you’ll play a critical role in the day-to-day yard operations—supporting both customer satisfaction and team efficiency.

Load and unload materials from delivery trucks and customer vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
Provide a high level of customer service by assisting customers with product location and loading in a courteous and helpful manner.
Prepare customer orders accurately based on sales slips and delivery documentation.
Safely operate forklifts and other yard equipment after receiving proper certification.
Receive and verify incoming shipments against bills of lading or purchase orders.
Report damaged, missing, or incorrect inventory to the Receiving Clerk or Supervisor.
Perform regular yard and warehouse housekeeping duties, including grass cutting and trimming.
Maintain clear and safe aisles, walkways, and loading zones.
Follow and promote all company health and safety policies, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use and hazard reporting.
Participate in training sessions and toolbox talks as scheduled.
Support other tasks or departments as required by Management.

Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the role, including regular lifting of up to 80 lbs.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and walk on rough or uneven terrain.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Forklift certification is an asset (training available if not yet certified).
Prior experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or construction setting is preferred.
Comfortable with basic measurement, order picking, and material handling.
Safety-first mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Professional and courteous with customers and co-workers.
Willingness to learn and contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace.
A valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License in good standing.
